This website (hereinafter the “Website“) is provided by Berliner Medizinische Gesellschaft (hereinafter “us” or “we”). For further information regarding the provider of the Website, please refer to our imprint below.

Handling of personal data

In the following we wish to provide you with information on how we handle your personal data when you use our Website. Unless otherwise indicated in the following chapters, the legal basis for the handling of your personal data results from the fact that such handling is required to make available the functionalities of the Website requested by you (Art. 6(1)(b) General Data Protection Regulation).

Using our Website

Accessing our Website

When you call up our Website, your browser will transfer certain data to our web server. This is done for technical reasons and required to make the requested information available to you. To facilitate your access to the Website, the following data are collected, briefly stored and used:

· date and time of access

· Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

· Content of request (specific site)

· Status of access/HTTP status code

· Transferred volume of data

· Website requesting access

· Browser, language settings, version of browser software operating system and surface

Moreover, to protect our legitimate interests, we will store such data for a limited period of time in order to be able to initiate a tracking of personal data in the event of actual or attempted unauthorized access to our servers (Art. 6(1)(f) General Data Protection Regulation).

Registration and Login

In order to be able to use certain services of our Website, you need to first register an account with us, where you are able to determine your personal login credentials that you need to be able to log into your personal account. For this registration and subsequent login procedure, we collect the following information about you:

· Name and surname

· User name and password

· Log file of your logins incl. timestamp

· Logging of created content

· Logging of videos played

This Website uses the Customer Identity Management Platform provided by Gigya Inc. (USA) (“Gigya“) for the registration to use certain services. The use of these data will only be processed for the purposes of enabling the use and the technical administration of this Website. The legal basis for processing are Art. 6 para. 1 a) GDPR and Art. 6 para. b) GDPR.

Uploaded content, comments and likes

Your content and associated metadata (e.g., titles, descriptions, tags, etc.) may be viewed and otherwise accessed by others. Your interactions with other users (e.g., comments, "likes," private messages) may be seen by others.

We retain your data for as long as you have an account. When you close an account, we will anonimize your personal data. We may retain logs of automatically collected information (for internal analytics).

We retain inactivated videos on our servers for a short period in case you wish to reactivate. Once we delete a video, we may not be able to recover it. If you have previously made a video public, the video or its thumbnail may be discoverable in a search engine's cache for a time. We have no control over search engines.

If we receive legal process pertaining to your account, we will retain your data for as long as we in good faith believe is necessary to comply with the legal process. Similarily, if we believe that your account has been involved in wrongdoing, we may preserve your data to defend or assert our rights.

What are cookies?

This Website uses so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the memory of your terminal via your browser. They store certain information (e.g. your preferred language or site settings) which your browser may (depending on the lifespan of the cookie) retransmit to us upon your next visit to our Website.

We use only functional cookies, without which the functionality of our Website would be reduced. Optional cookies used for e.g. website analysis and marketing purposes are currently not used.
